Sometimes you don’t have to look far to find an epic steelhead trip, the Squamish River, located about an hour north of Vancouver is just one of those fisheries. A quality, not a quantity, fishery, the Squamish is home to a small run of sparkly wild winter steelhead fresh off of open ocean. Prime dates for these fish are in the later winter months, with the first steelhead entering the system in early February. Best time for a trip is when the majority of the fish are in the river and water conditions are prime, that’s usually early March to early May. We offer both guided day trips from Vancouver and multi-day packages, that include hotel accommodations in Squamish, minutes from the river. Our trips are guided in-house, Chromer’s guide staff has long standing experience in the Sea to Sky region, and we use a variety of methods of access. Most guided day trips on the Squamish and her tributaries are done via walk-n-wade, often the most effect method of access, but we also use our drift rafts and our jetboat on the lower system. If you’re looking for an fun, easy and affordable steelhead fishing trip in BC, this one is hard to beat!

“Our guides Yos and Pat treated us to great company, lots of laughs, top-notch gear and just an all-around positive experience. These guys went out of their way to make everything right and worked their butts off to get us into some fish. Very patient teachers of spey casting and reading the water. I recommend them to anyone who loves fly fishing, regardless of your skill level.”
